Switchboard — Privacy Policy

The short version: Switchboard exists so your data doesn't leave your machine. The extension and daemon collect no analytics, run no telemetry, and operate no servers. Everything stays local.

What Switchboard does

Switchboard connects websites you visit to a daemon running on your own computer, which lends them your AI model, tools, and data — only with your explicit, per-site consent. All traffic flows between the page, the extension, and 127.0.0.1 (your machine). There is no Switchboard cloud.

Data the extension stores

Pairing token — a random secret linking the extension to your local daemon. Stored in Chrome's local extension storage. Never transmitted anywhere except to your local daemon.

Per-site grants — which sites you've connected and what you allowed them.
An audit log — a local record of requests, so you can see what apps did.
App storage — data web apps save through Switchboard, in folders you control.

All of this lives in ~/.relay on your computer. Deleting that folder deletes everything.

What we collect

Nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no accounts, no cookies, no remote logging. We (the developers) never see your data, your prompts, your keys, or your browsing.

What websites can access

Only what you grant, per site, through the consent screen — and every change-making action asks again. Sites never receive your credentials; the daemon holds them and returns results only.

Third parties

Your AI requests go to the model you configured (e.g. your own Claude subscription via the CLI on your machine, or a local model). Those requests are governed by your agreement with that provider — Switchboard adds no party in between.
