We have dressed the prompt up as empowerment. Prompt engineering, prompt libraries, the well-crafted system message.
But a great prompt is evidence of a broken interface, not a skill worth having. It exists because the model can’t see what you see, doesn’t hold what you already told it, and can’t act where the work actually lives.
So you become the courier: copying context in, carrying answers out, translating between the model and your real files, your real screen, your real intent.
Anything you have to re-explain is something the architecture failed to remember.
The fix is not a better prompt box. It’s an architecture that stands where you stand, with your context, your data, your permissions already present, so the explaining never has to happen.
Remove the reason to prompt, and the prompt disappears on its own.
